9.25x24x1
Encaustic, natural pigments, on pine board
This evocative landscape, titled Hunter’s Ridge, emerged purely from memory—a hillside without a specific reference. Yet, upon its completion, Freddie realized it mirrored the familiar view outside the front door of his partner’s home. The painting captures the hills and valleys where weather rolls in and out, shifting between moments of calm and storm. Layers of encaustic wax create depth and texture, echoing the ever-changing atmosphere of the landscape. It’s a vision Freddie encounters often, though not every day, and this piece serves as both a reminder and a tribute to the quiet beauty of Hunter’s Ridge.
This encaustic painting is made with molten wax and oil pastels. A snapshot in time in remembrance of a beautiful adventure.
