Photo encaustic on cradle board with Natural pigments and crystals.

Daydream 407 is a quiet self-portrait taken after a long day of renovating my rental apartment—a pause to take in the work, the light, and the stillness. Seated on a simple bentwood café chair, I face the gallery-like space I had just shaped: white walls, minimal detail, and soft light pouring in through a window behind me. The architecture is quiet, the moment reflective.

Layered over the black-and-white photograph are translucent clouds of colored wax—subtle, shifting veils of energy that move through the room like spirits wanting to be seen but choosing not to reveal themselves fully. Crystals float within these clouds, catching glimmers of light like stardust in daylight, adding a sense of magic and presence to the air. The piece holds a contemplative energy—a meditation on labor, light, and the invisible forces that gather around us when we pause to truly look.
